Coming back home

My dearest followers,

I know I've been neglecting this blog quite a bit these past few months. The pressures of life just kept getting in the way and before you know it, weeks have past--as if someone pressed the forward button on the remote control that controls the pace of life.

I have to say, the past two months have taken a lot out of me. There were heavy demands on me, no matter which directiom I looked. Work was crazy, so much so that for a few weeks it trailed right behind me all the way home.
I hate bringing work home, the uninvited guest. But I had no choice.I was working on a report with a tight deadline.
In the end as work followed me home, I didn't fight it. I invited it into our home.
But there was a problem. Thing is, I had a live in guest by the name of Sleep. As you might have imagined, Work and Sleep didn't get along.
I had to make a decision. Only One of them could stay. I chose Work. For about three weeks, apart from the weekend that I went away with my husband to celebrare my 30th birthday and our first year anniversary, I slept no more than three hours a night--way less than I was used to. On some nights I even slept one hour.
I really missed my friend, Sleep.

Last Friday, my work project came to an end. I immediately sent Work packing and invited Sleep back home. As I wrote this blog post, I was laying in the dark at 2 a.m. and Sleep was playing hard to get.
But thanks to my new toy, my iPhone, I could use the time to write to you. I have missed you. Truly, when I feel drained and unable to give anymore, it's this blog and you my followers that give me the energy I need to go on.

No matter how many times life gets in the way, this is home to me, and I will always come back. Thank you for always being here to receive me.

In the next post I will share with you some photos of Bratislava, where we went for our anniversary. I promise it won't be long.

  4. I feel the same way. I'm in the last month of a big project, and I can't wait to get back to my own writing. Love the title of your novel, by the way!

I haven't been around in a while. Good to know that you're out from under work pressures for a bit. Never heard of Bratislava. Hope I remember to come back for the pictures.
